Wonderful experience, Terrific team :
We are a couple in their 40's and teenage son, non-swimmers and this is our first kayaking experience. The entire experience were very professionally handled to ensure a joyous experience.
The jetty is located at the rear end of the "Arts and Craft village" which has huge parking space, restroom facility as well as wonderful shops. I especially loved the Terracotta sculpture garden with its lifelike statues.
The jetty has lots of pathways, treehouses built upon mangrove shoreline which is quite picturesque and had a 'Jungle Island' vibe to it. We enjoyed exploring the nook and crannies of the walkways and bridges, one could easily spend half an hour with their families there.
Our instructor Mr. Bala gave us an introductory session on "Do's and Dont's" and basic kayak maneuver on the picturesque lawn with our paddles.
Mr. Madhi and Mr. Bala then provided us with a lifevest and ensured that it was the right fit for us before helping us into the kayak. The group consisted of 5 kayaks with 2 instructors who carefully monitored the entire group.
It was very exhilarating to first venture out on open waters and get the hang of kayaking. The setting was wonderful amidst mangroves and lots of flying fish jumping around. The experience of watching the wildlife and the gentle ebb and flow of water was very therapeutic. If left to us on our own, we would have just sat like that for hours together : ) .The instructors gave ample support and instructions throughout and took us amidst thick mangroves with just play of light and shadows all around us.
We made a stop at Arickamedu archaelogical site. Me being "Yavana Rani" fan, I loved the site which first established our trade links to the yavanas(greek) and Rome. It was very idyllic to just roam around and take in the sights.
Later the instructors helped us with the photographs and provided lots of encouragement while moving upstream towards the jetty.
I would highly recommend these guys for their endless patience, passion to give a safe and joyous experience. Thanks a lot Mr. Bala, Mr.Mathi and Mr. Venkat.
